Family Programs
Calling all Detectives! Go on a hunt for history the second Sunday of each month at 11 am as part of our Preservation Detectives family program. We provide the binoculars, magnifying glass and note pad. You uncover the art, architecture and mystery of our landmark site.
Volunteer
Become a docent and share the story of our landmark building with people from around the world. Gain experience into the workings of a non-profit through our student internship program, and immerse yourself in Jewish history, culture and architecture.

Kiki Smith & Deborah Gans Installation
Come see our newest addition — a monumental new stained-glass window by artist Kiki Smith and architect Deborah Gans. This permanent artwork is the culminating piece of the Museum’s 20-plus year restoration of the 1887 Eldridge Street Synagogue.

Exhibits
Our digital displays, created by Potion Design, are truly magical! Explore the sites and streets of the Lower East Side of 100 years ago. Discover synagogues from around the world. Design your own Yiddish newspaper and play other interactive games. The Museum’s digital displays were the recipient of the American Association of Museum’s 2008 Gold Award for Interactive Installation. Also, be sure to spend time in our Family History Center with its display of artifacts from our collection and the Women’s Gallery which is home to an exhibit on the synagogue restoration.
Restoration
