A Statement on Social Justice
In keeping with the Museum at Eldridge Street’s mission to support a fair, just and diverse America and the historical obligation of the Jewish people not to stand idly by while your neighbor’s blood is shed (Leviticus 19:16), the Museum at Eldridge Street supports the movement to end systemic racism in our country. Since its founding, the Museum has worked to support the core American values of freedom and equality that made our nation a refuge for Jewish and other immigrants. The entire Eldridge community is committed to continue and expand all of our current activities and training and professional opportunities to individuals from diverse communities, with the overall goal of preventing racial discrimination and promoting equality for all people. The Museum at Eldridge Street stands with the peaceful protestors in our midst, so that the truly inclusive society that is the promise of America, can be realized for all of us.
