The Art of Kiki Smith: Exhibition Opening

April 11 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

World-renowned artist Kiki Smith brings her distinctive vision to Eldridge Street in this site-specific exhibition. Born in Germany and raised on the Lower East Side, Smith has spent decades exploring themes of mortality, spirituality, society, the body, and the mind. Her art became a vital element of the Eldridge Street Synagogue when the stained-glass window she designed in collaboration with architect Deborah Gans was installed in our historic sanctuary in 2010. Now, see Kiki Smith’s work in varying mediums throughout the landmark building. This opening reception will debut the exhibition and will feature remarks by Smith and Museum curators.
