Ricky Ian Gordan’s compelling opera Morning Star makes its New York premier at the Museum at Eldridge Street. Morning Star tells the story of an immigrant Jewish family struggling to find a better life on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in the early 20th century. Deeply impacted by real-life events including the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire, World War I and the Great Depression, the family must learn to adapt to their new country’s ever-changing landscape. Produced by On Site Opera, this New York premier features new orchestrations by Tony Award-winning orchestrator Bruce Coughlin.
