Introduction to Jewish Mysticism

October 13 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

$10.00 - $110.00
Adult Education

Mysticism has been a part of Judaism since antiquity. Why did Jews write about ascending to heaven to see God and the angels? How did the Jews at Qumran understand the role of the Temple and the sacrifices? How are mystical ideas reflected in both classical rabbinic literature as well as contemporary Jewish prayer books? We will explore these questions by analyzing excerpts from a variety of diverse texts of Jewish mysticism as we study their impact over the centuries from the Bible onward.

You will receive an access link upon registration.

This class will be hosted on Zoom from 11AM to 12PM on Tuesdays this Fall.

October 13, 20, 27; November 3, 10, 17, 24; December 1, 8, 15, 22
