The Many Faces of the East Village – Walking Tour

Lower East Side. East Village. Alphabet City. What’s your preferred name for the area located between Houston and East 14th Streets, from the Bowery to the East River? Join urban historian Barry Feldman and explore the area’s many faces and rich history on this neighborhood walking tour. Stops include pre-Civil War residences, movie palaces and sites that recall the flourishing Yiddish theater scene, hippie-era head shops, and fashionable boutiques and restaurants that have popped up in recent years.

This tour meets outside the movie house on the southwest corner of East 12th Street and Second Avenue. Reservations are required.
