Listed by Art Forum as one of the top 10 films of 2017, “Bombshell ” is the biographical documentary film about the life of actress and inventor, Hedy Lamarr. Born Hedwig Eva Maria Kiesler to an Austrian Jewish family, she emigrated to the U.S. and became regarded as the most beautiful Hollywood actress of the 30’s and 40’s. Many people don’t know that she was also a technological trailblazer who co-invented a secure radio guidance system for Allied torpedoes during WWII.

The film’s director and producer Alexandra Dean will be leading the conversation about the Award-winning documentary.

“Bombshell: the Hedy Lamarr Story” can be streamed on PBS American Masters and on Amazon Prime for $4.

Alexandra Dean is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and a documentary director and producer. She has produced news-magazine documentaries and series for PBS and Bloomberg television. “Bombshell: the Hedy Lamarr Story” was her first feature documentary. The film was a New York Times Critics pick and won five audience awards at festivals across the country. It was voted the best documentary of 2017 by NY Critics online.
