An Evening to Relish: Open House with Artist Steve Marcus
July 20 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree
On National Hot Dog Day, Wednesday, July 20, join New York City artist Steve Marcus at the Museum at Eldridge Street and see his series of new artworks inspired by one of the many great Jewish contributions to American culture – the hot dog! Relish the chance to visit the Museum at Eldridge Street after-hours, and view our new exhibition, Steve Marcus: Top Dog of Kosher Pop Art.
This Open House will feature an informal talk about the show by artist Steve Marcus. This event is FREE, but registration is required.
Linking his quirky sense of humor with a passion for his own roots and culture, Marcus’s hand-drawn works on paper answer to a higher authority. The exhibition includes a wooden sculpture and selections from Marcus’s personal collection of New York City hot dog memorabilia.
Ketchup with your memories, your love of art, and your links to the Lower East Side of old through Marcus’s creations, and visually nosh on one of America’s all-time-favorite foods!
Steve Marcus: Top Dog of Kosher Pop Art will be on view through November 6, 2022 in the Michael Weinstein Gallery.
The Museum requires all guests to present proof of vaccination against COVID-19.
This exhibition is made possible by the City of New York Department of Cultural Affairs in Partnership with the City Council, and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
