Preservation Detectives Tour
Every Sunday at 1:00 pm.
Uncover the story of the synagogue's 19th-century immigrant founders in the building's floorboards, murals, and brilliant stained-glass windows. Tours include conversations and art activities inspired by participants' discoveries and the history and architecture of the synagogue.
Preservation Detectives focuses on a different theme each month:
February: Synagogue Sleuths
Design a unique three-dimensional community space.
March: Heroes & Villains
Be a part of action-packed storytelling based on Jewish folk tales and holidays. Craft a mask and decide what role you want to play.
April: Passover Scavenger Hunt
Search for holiday clues in the main sanctuary. Design a one-of-a-kind goblet to commemorate the quest for freedom which led many immigrants to the Lower East Side.
May: Artisan Guild
Join the Eldridge Street Guild and learn about the art of stained-glass design in our brilliant sanctuary, and create your own window decoration.
June: Time Travel
