WORK
ACCOMPLISHED
The Museum at Eldridge Street began restoration work on the landmark Eldridge Street Synagogue in the early 1990s. Work focused on the rescue and stabilization of the building, including important foundation work and repair of the building’s roof. The Project also surveyed all of the elements in the building, including stained glass, lighting fixtures and other aesthetic objects. Most recently, the buildings was made fully accessible, with an ADA-compliant entryway, elevator and restroom facilities. Funding for this work is derived from the City of New York as well as numerous foundations, corporations and individuals.
