Investigate the exuberant paint patterns that coat Eldridge Street's surfaces. From the 70ft vaulted ceiling to the faux marble walls, this architectural landmark is covered in decoration. Look closely to uncover the techniques used by the artisans and then create your own stenciled wall paper design. Part of the Preservation Detectives Family Program Series.

Learn how to make kreplach with chicken soup while collecting food memories with Feed Me a Story. Join Dr. Sheldon Nova (aka the Soup Doctor) and Feed Me a Story project creators Laura Nova and Theresa Loong for an afternoon of cooking and conversation as we explore the concept of what it means to be an American.

Based on an 1896 story by Jewish Daily Forward editor Abraham Cahan, Joan Micklin Silver's 1975 film traces the comic and poignant story of Jake (Steven Keats) and Gitl (Carol Kane), Russian immigrants on the Lower East Side with very different ideas about Americanization.
